After the tsunami by the end of 2004 a huge area along the south Asian coast was destroyed – included big parts around Phuket.
The power of the water demolished not only the livelihood of thousands of people – many people as well lost their lives due to this catastrophe.
Shortly after the tsunami three brave man - Mike Kuhlmann (propheten inventor), Daniel Meury (owner of The Chedi Hotel) and Peter Fischer (president of the Frankfurt soccer team “Eintracht Frankfurt”) - decided spontaneously to help and set up a team of volunteers named “help children of phuket”. The Hotel Management offered direct help by giving small loans to locals to set up their own businesses.
The organization is active until today – but it grew. propheten, the German Ministry of Education and the General Inspection Office 10 coordinate and manage the help until today. Local handicraft enterprises fulfill the operations.
The exemplary help was honored by the royal dynasty of Thailand.
